India Sovereign question by Gaurav: What do you think can be the solution for Jammu and Kashmir problem?
Let me first enumerate the different school of thought prevailing across the state.
1. Secession from India and being declared a sovereign country.
2. Secession from India and joining Pakistan.
3. Continue to be an integral part of India.
The main problem that arises in Jammu and Kashmir is of its different religious and cultural identity than other any other part of India and the way it acceded to the Union of India. It acceded to India on 26th Oct 1947 to prevent its forceful occupation by the Pakistani Army. The problem lies that the people of the valley (the Kashmir valley) are mostly muslims unlike the other part of the state. Some people among them want to decide for themselves their political future.
But the fact remains that Jammu and Kashmir is an INTEGRAL part of Union of INDIA and cant be separated from it as per the constitution. (otherwise it will need the constitution to be AMENDED). Also the Indian constitution recognizing the conditions under which it acceded to INDIA has granted it a special position. (Art 370). The state of Jammu and Kashmir enjoys the greatest autonomy among any of the states of INDIA. Still the problem persists.
A solution can be as is being chalked out is of reconcilliaiton with the different political thoughts prevailing in the state addressing the grievance of the people. INDIA being a democracy, which aims at government by the people, of the people and for the people, this is not hard to accomplish. As the main aim of democracy in welfare of its citizen.

This is unfortunately, typical American opinion. The talk of a modern British Empire, as this video would have you believe, is ill-informed, disconnected, ignorant and quite offensive. Gordon Brown has simply called for tighter regulation and government intervention following this global recession. Keynesian economics has been the saviour of what could have been another huge global depression, and the american attitude of non-regulation will simply lead to another depression in a decade or so.
