Since early 2001 this data can be downloaded from freestockcharts.com as CSV format. The ceiling function is a log-curve which pretty much shows the best-case Dow-price-as-gold values (often not hit) and the lower it is, the more the market is REALLY CRASHING in real money terms (gold, not dollars). Something special usually happens when Dow/Gold hits a bottom, could be at 6, could be at 2, no one really knows. CONSIDERATION IS REQUIRED. The Dow/Gold bottom may happen before full exposure of gold-price manipulation of unbacked paper certificates and leveraged short positions so while normally gold prices are peaked vs Dow at the convergence of the chart lines this time around it may not be the case. If manipulation suddenly ends then gold prices go up 50x (4900 %). The linear regression line is shown. Below is also shown the same graph following the linear-regression line. An alternate scatter-plot / cross-plot is shown with the linear-regression values (decreasing) as the X-Axis and the Y-Axis being the actual Dow/Gold values.
