Half Sovereigns

Half Sovereigns were a very popular coin in everyday use from Victorian times to the present day.

It was a smaller coin than the full sovereign but was accepted worldwide.British Gold coins were one of the standard coins used in International trade and the half sovereign was part of every workmans pay.
