Dubai is known as the Gold Capital and prices are really good.

Gold is sold in Dubai by weight and you are expected to haggle.

But remember the dealers there spend all day - every day haggling !

Dubai has dozens of shopping malls (and yes they do accept credit cards ..)

A Souk is a cluster of shops where you can buy sell or exchange goods.
The Gold Souk in Dubai is exactly that.
Shop windows are packed with appealing gold in all forms to lure you inside.
Most things are different forms of Jewellery (mainly 24 Carat) and designs
are mainly aimed at Middle Eastern and Indian Clients.

It really does look like Aladdins Cave !

Gold coins are of course also available ..

This makes them appear a litle ornate for some Western Tastes.
You will see many Indian customers in the Gold Souk

(but remember it is illegal to import gold into India ...)
Good Bargains in the Gold Souk are earrings,bangles,rings and necklaces.
The prices are among the lowest in the World.
There are no price tickets ! You really do have to haggle as jewellery is priced by weight and craftsmanship (mainly by weight).

While you are there you may well see lotteries with amazing prizes.
I bought tickets for a Mercedes and a Rolls Royce at the Airport

(but regrettably I did not win !)

There is also an outlet Mall at Dubai Outlet Mall offering discounts of 30% to 90% at Al Ain Road in Dubailand (route66) There are tens of thousands of reasons to shop at the Dubai Gold Souk
